A Japanese engineer who was sentenced to one month in prison for having 77 pornographic CD’s is appealing against his sentence issued by the Court of First Instance.
The 33-year-old maintains he was not aware the films were illegal when he was caught at Dubai International Airport.
His lawyer claimed he bought them into the country for his “personal use”.
A Japanese diplomatic group attended yesterday’s hearing for the man who works for a Japanese engineering firm.
The Court of Appeal will issue a verdict next month.
